Grin and B.E.A.R. It—New for 2011
For years, counselors have taught that our level of emotional and relational contentment correlates directly to the degree of difference between people’s expectations and the reality that life serves up. Leslie shares theoretical and practical ways to increase our satisfaction in life by raising our reality and developing more realistic expectations.
Thrive It Up: Upgrade Your Attitude & Improve Your Outlook—New for 2010
Leslie developed this topic in honor of her husband’s favorite saying: “Doesn’t it feel good when you stop banging your head against that brick wall?” It’s hard for anyone to change or improve as long as they remain mired in the same old yuck. Leslie teaches practical steps toward positive change.
Aha Moments: Gaining Wisdom & Perspective from Life’s Defining Events—New for 2010
An aha moment is one of life’s defining moments where you gain clarity and understanding—wisdom God can use to change your life. An aha moment involves being available, honorable and authentic and moving toward acceptance, hope and anticipation. Leslie shares the story of her massive stroke in this powerful talk.
BEST Life: How God Wants Us to Live
Are you living your BEST life? Or do you settle for less than what God has for you? Using a Scriptural basis, Leslie teaches about being blessed, not buried; encouraged, not exasperated; steady, not scattered; and triumphant, not tragic. She includes a bonus “T”: thankful, not taking it for granted.
PEACE Signs: How Then Shall We Live?
Leslie employs the acrostic P-E-A-C-E to offer the gentle reminder that we need to consistently spend time in prayer and praise. By doing so, we’re encouraged and able to encourage others, and we recognize God’s faithfulness. As a result, we learn to be content with what we have and live with a sense of hope and expectancy.
Gaining Freedom from Strongholds
Definitions of a stronghold include bondage, captivity, and a condition of submission to or domination by some influence, habit or addiction. Sadly, many of us fool ourselves into thinking that we are free when we can make our own choices, independent of God telling us what to do. True freedom comes by yielding our lives to God and allowing Him to control us toward a life of righteousness, purity, and holiness.
Stress, Rest & Renewal
Stress need not be distress. Learn how using the right kind of stress to your advantage can energize you. I also remind you to rest your soul, renew your mind, and nurture relationships with God and your loved ones.
Discover Your Passion and Do It!
Bret’s wife? Molly’s mom? Women don’t stop being individuals just because they get married and have a family. Leslie encourages audience members to discover their passion, determine any obstacles, develop a plan, and do it! By troubleshooting obstacles such as not having enough time, money or space to pursue your passion, it’s possible to rekindle the interests and fun.
